How to select a Suitable Lift?

How to select a suitable lift?

Choosing the right freight elevator is extremely important for your company. There are many different types of hoist and each one is designed to be used for specific jobs.

How to find out what kind of lifts your company needs?
There are several important factors to consider when choosing the right freight elevator:

Environment:

The working environment influences the type of hoist to be selected; the type of rims suitable and the type of fuel.

Consider the type of surface and the conditions on which the freight elevator will work:

  • Smooth or rough surfaces?
  • Indoor use; outdoor use or both?
  • How many hours a day will the hoist be used?
  • Cargo capacity

It is a big error to select a hoist with a lifting capacity lower than the required one. Therefore, it is vital to ask yourself:

  • What kind of products will the freight elevator handle?
  • What is the average load weight?
  • What is the heaviest load required to be lifted?
  • What are the dimensions of the load?
  • The type of cargo is also a very important point. There are special accessories for lifts that can move the load more efficiently. For rental Purpose Click Here

There are many types of accessories available:

  • Lateral load shifters.
  • Knife positioned.
  • Push-Pull Equipment.
  • Clamps

Height and Dimensions:

Similarly to the maximum load, a suitable hoist that complies with its height restrictions must be selected:

  • What is the average lift height of the load?
  • What is the maximum lifting height of the load?
  • Is there any height restriction to consider? (for example: ceiling beams or luminaries)
  • Do you require the freight elevator to enter through a fixed structure?
  • What are the dimensions  and the areas where the freight elevator goes?
    fuel type
  • There are 4 types of fuel options for freight elevators: Electricity; LP Gas; Diesel or Gasoline.

Advantages of electric freight Elevators:

  • Ideal for indoor use.
  • Operation without odors.
  • Low maintenance costs.
  • Silent operation and no vibrations.
  • Easy to drive.
  • High stability for having a low center of gravity.
  • Low cost for fuel.
  • Compact design.
  • Disadvantages of electric freight elevators:
  • Not suitable for outdoor use.
  • More high cost of acquisition (mountacars nuevo).
  • The battery life must be taken care of (the most valuable element of the electric hoist).
  • Repair and maintenance must be carried out by specialized technicians.
  • The battery recharge process takes time (hours).
  • Most electric hoist models are designed to work on smooth surfaces.

Advantages of LP Gas Cargo Lifts:

  • I cost more to purchase than an electric or diesel hoist (new hoist).
  • Indoor and outdoor use.
  • Poorly contaminating gas emissions.
  • High availability of rarefaction.
  • Fast fuel recharge (minutes).
  • Disadvantages of LP Gas Cargo Lifts:
  • Maintenance costs superior to the electric hoists.
  • Noisier operation and vibrations in comparison with electric hoists.
  • Advantages of Diesel Cargo Trucks:
  • Ideal for large loads and heavy work.
  • Motor with high power and maximum torque.
  • Long engine life.
  • Fast fuel recharge.
  • Disadvantages of Diesel Cargo Trucks:
  • Your engine generates humo and some noise.
  • Outdoor use.
  • Higher repair and maintenance costs than Gas LP hoists.
  • Acquisition cost superior to a LP Gas hoist.
  • Selection of Rims

There are several types of rims available for lifts:

Electric Loaders:

Solid or cushion type rims (smooth or traction). Also available in white color to not mark the floor.

LP Gas Lifts:

Cushion type rims (smooth or traction) for indoor use. Available in white color to not mark the floor.

Pneumatic rims for indoor or outdoor use. These can be of the solid type (do not deflate) or air release. Solid edges are available in white color to not mark the floor.

Diesel Cargo Trucks:

Pneumatic rims for indoor or outdoor use. These can be of the solid type (do not deflate) or air release.
